3-19 Review - Musical vision
A major review into music education for three to 19-year-olds recently set out plans for a "national vision" after finding "considerable inequalities" in provision across Wales.
The report found low levels of confidence in music teaching and said primary teachers needed extra support.
It also found that local authorities were only offering minimal support to music teachers and the quality of their musical instruments was in decline.
The Assembly government accepted most of the recommendations but did not offer any extra funding.
