Eight teenagers have been suspended after police were called to clear a 90-pupil protest against a school's ban on wearing shorts - one of the latest fashion crazes. The children occupied the road outside 1,200-pupil Rhyl high school, north Wales, last week.

Head Mike Williams said the demonstrators' behaviour became extreme. The suspended pupils will be allowed back for exams and work experience.
