A copy of Project Macbeth a DVD produced by the National Theatre of Scotland, which brings Shakespeare's play into the 21st century has been sent to every Scottish school.

Created as a teaching resource, it explores the themes and issues raised in the play and makes them relevant to young people.

NTS Learn, the organisation's education wing, produced and toured Project Macbeth last year. Earlier this year, it continued the theme with the production of The Elgin Macbeth an interactive multimedia installation at Elgin Cathedral (below) as Moray Council's contribution to the Highland Year of Culture.

A spokesperson for NTS Learn said it had created educational and outreach theatre projects involving more than 30,000 participants and audience members, including 80 schools, since its launch in February 2006. T 0141 221 0970
