A lotta bottle

17th December 2010 at 00:00

Hillhead Primary in Wick has put up a Christmas tree with a difference: made with 280 two-litre green plastic bottles collected by pupils. The "tree", which stands at nearly 12 feet, was assembled with help from headteacher Ally Budge's brother-in-law, an offshore welder. Hillhead is going for its third Eco-Schools green flag, and will redecorate the metal framework for an art exhibition next year, using different-coloured bottles on each side to represent the four seasons.
