Abuse case arrests

ITALY: The discovery of repeated and widespread sexual abuse in a primary school near Naples, organised by the caretaker, has led to 17 arrests.

At least 19 first and second-year children were abused on and off the school premises over a two-year period. Drugged and sometimes chained, the children were also made to take part in paedophile videos. One of the child psychologists involved in the investigation which began more than a year ago, has accused, but not so far identified, an official in the education ministry of wilfully holding up the inquiry.
