Accusation of assault

South Wales police are investigating an allegation that a maths teacher in Swansea physically assaulted a child. David Aldridge, 53, from Dunvant, was arrested over the Christmas break and released on bail. He has been suspended from his post at the city's Olchfa comprehensive school. A Swansea council spokesperson said the matter was being dealt with by the police.
