Could this be the most acronym-filled paragraph ever penned, even by the redoubtable standards of Scottish education? "The SQA anticipates that the work already undertaken with HEQC (Scotland) under the aegis of SACCA will be built on to create a post-16 credit framework. The SCOTVEC review of higher national qualifications and consultations with higher education institutions, employers and professional bodies about the role of higher level SVQs should also contribute to these developments.

"The SQA would anticipate playing a key role with the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA(HE))." (From the Scottish Qualifications Authority response to the Dearing and Garrick reports.)
