Action may hit university admissions;In brief

UNIVERSITY staff have announced four days of industrial action, timed to disrupt the admissions process in August. Administration boycotts will take place on August 9 and 10, results days for Scottish Highers, and on August 19 and 20 when the A-level results are announced. Academics are pressing for a 10 per cent pay rise, claiming that their salaries have fallen by more than a third over the past two decades.
