Admin made easy

Technology should make schools easier to run, but too often it creates greater complexity and headaches for school managers. The secret is to use systems that are powerful, sophisticated and versatile but also easy to use. This, says Stanley Guffogg, of Wilson and Garden, is what FrogTeacher provides.

"You can use it for all the school admin; you can develop a website; you can produce and analyse self-marking tests. It supports discussion groups that can communicate easily and safely, and provides a secure intranet that lets staff share files, allowing them to collaborate or work while travelling."

Simplicity is the key, Mr Guffogg says. "Seven-year-olds can use it and teachers love it because they don't have to learn any technology."

FrogTeacher is hardware (a server) and software (a web-based, multi-tasking platform) and the costs "work out at pound;2-3 per pupil a year".
