After the tsunami

20th January 2006 at 00:00
Geo-World is the geography department's website at Beal High School in Essex. Its new mini-site, called Tsunami!, examines the changes and progress made in the 12 months since the waves hit Asia on December 26, 2004. Interactive animations and short films explain the science behind the event and the earthquake that lead to it. A page entitled "The Future"

describes how satellite technology can detect tsunamis and has information about the sea level observation stations being upgraded across the region.
