American football

With the future of the Scottish Claymores in doubt, as NFL Europe considers dropping the team, there are concerns for the grassroots of American football in Scotland. However, solid foundations have been put in place for flag football, the non-contact version of the game.

The Claymores are continuing to run their free Leaders' Award course, an introductory coaching course which is recognised by the British American Football Coaches Association. Any teacher wanting information should contact Scott Couper, tel 0141 222 3800.
