Culloden Academy's Cougars narrowly missed out on a chance to play in the European Schools Flag Football finals. The Cougars, from Highland, lost 31-25 to the Woodham Warriors, from County Durham, in the finals of the British qualifiers.

Culloden had beaten the Coventry Jets 44-6 in their semi-final, while Woodham Warriors had beaten the Mustangs of St Mungo's High, Falkirk, 27-0 in the other semi-final.

The Warriors, now representing Britain, will face the champions of the Czech Republic for one of the eight places in the European finals in Dusseldorf, Germany, on June 11.
