Artists in residence

27th November 2009 at 00:00

Babies and toddlers are to get their own artist in residence at five venues in Scotland. Starcatchers, which develops theatre work and "all sorts of creativity" across different art forms for children aged 0 to 4, has created four year-long artist residencies at key venues: Matt Addicott at Platform, in Glasgow's Easterhouse; Hazel Darwin Edwards at the Byre Theatre in St Andrews; Sacha Kyle at Arts and Theatres Trust Fife Ltd (AttFife) in two of their venues at Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline and Lochgelly Centre, Lochgelly; and Katy Wilson at Tramway, Glasgow. During the residencies the artists, who have backgrounds in theatre, visual arts and design, will work with community groups, nurseries and childcare centres, creating playful workshops to develop ideas for new performances for the little ones. Each residency will have a dedicated space on the Starcatchers website, with blogs, photographs and film of the work taking place in each community.
