Eilidh Child (Kinross High) set a Scottish under-17 record in the 400m hurdles at the French Schools' Championships in Dreux, near Paris.

She won the race in 60.38 seconds, beating the previous mark set 12 years ago by more than half a second.

Another notable performance in the championships came from Kris Robertson (Breadalbane Academy), who win the 400m race in a personal best time of 48.58 seconds. Nicola Gossman (Jordanhill) was second in the 100m in 12.30 seconds.

A 14-strong team from Scotland competed in the championships and every athlete returned with a medal.
