Auntie goes digital
The response we have had from teachers to the new arrangements - which include free on-demand access to new programmes via the Internet - has been wholly positive. And that's what we expected, because research conducted early this year showed few teachers made use of the old analogue broadcasts on Radio 3, none in our survey relied on them exclusively and most favoured buying taped sets of programmes from the BBC at cost.
We sent leaflets to all schools explaining the changes in the summer, but if any teachers are having difficulty receiving BBC schools radio, they should call 08700 100222 for advice.
