Award for sacked teacher

A teacher has been awarded pound;5,210 after winning a three-year battle to prove she was dismissed unfairly when Binstead primary on the Isle of Wight failed to renew her one year contract and replaced her with a younger, cheaper teacher.

Jane Nash, a 56 year-old member of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers appealed after losing her original employment tribunal in September 2002.
