The man from the ministry was lost in admiration. The organisation had won ISO 9001 accreditation, he said. It was working towards Investors in People status. It was implementing the European Foundation for Quality Management excellence model. It conducted cusomer, stakeholder and staff surveys. Its chairman and chief executive regularly chatted to pupils and teachers.

And what was this model of perfection, presented to the parliamentary lifelong learning committee last week? Why, the SQA of course.
