The Physical Education Association of the UK (PEAUK) invites nominations throughout the year for its Gerald Murray Awards, which recognise high quality primary and secondary teaching. The organisation is also looking for nominations for the NQT Awards, sponsored by Stadia Sport, which celebrate the achievements of teachers at the beginning of their careers.

Winners receive pound;250 and pound;500-worth of equipment for their school.

Sportsmatch, the Government scheme to encourage companies to sponsor grassroots sport, has just passed the 10-year mark. The scheme encourages sponsor investment by doubling the amount of money raised through sponsorship from a minimum of pound;500 up to pound;50,000.
