Thomas Bethell, of St Margaret's Academy in Livingston, beat the best English badminton players in his age group to win the English Circuit Under-15 final in Milton Keynes at the start of the month.

Thomas beat top seed Chris Hotchen in the first round and never dropped a set on his way to the title against English player Peter Mills, winning 15-6, 15-11.

It was a fine season for Thomas, who won a treble at the Bank of Scotland Scottish Junior Championships earlier in the year.
