Badminton Scotland has reported significant increases in the number of schools affiliated to the governing body over the past year.

Secondary affiliations are up 11 per cent to 216 and primaries up 25 per cent.

"It is a boom time for the sport in Scotland, with Susan Hughes winning a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games and Glasgow staging the World Team Championships - the Sudirman Cup - next year," says Badminton Scotland's chief executive, Anne Smillie.
