Bank to invest in movers of the future
The company, which recruits new graduates on salaries of about pound;35,000, is keen to develop "leaders for tomorrow". It has organised a programme in which children will be assigned either Goldman Sachs employees or business students as their mentors.
The talented pupils will also be offered access to a special website in their schools and at home that will feature multimedia presentations, virtual experiments and competitions. There will be lessons in entrepreneurship during the academy's summer schools, which will be held at Warwick University this year.
The sponsorship, which covers the first year of an anticipated three-year programme, is the first to be secured by the academy.
