The recent grade A listing of St Andrew's College student residences is standing in the way of the merger with Glasgow University, since disposing of the Bearsden site has become more difficult. Not everyone is enamoured of the architectural decision anyway.

Glasgow's newsletter, reporting on a senate meeting at which the matter was aired, states: "They were designed by a former professor of architecture at Glasgow, so I recommend you drive past them and admire their aesthetic qualities. You may need to look twice or thrice."
