Best for whom?;Letter

SO, Chris Woodhead, at last, shows his true allegiance to the independent sector (TES, October 8). To "train the best teachers at the best schools" even if this were true it would (by his criteria) make them less able to cope at the majority of schools at which they are likely to teach (i.e. non-independent). Unless, of course, he is only interested in servicing the private sector with these "best teachers".
