Bet out of hell?

A fortnight ago the Diary promised to put all its spare cash (pound;5.23) on South Sands, the racehorse owned by a syndicate of staff and parents at Hereford Cathedral junior school. But the horse was pulled out of racing at Taunton or Chepstow last week because, says head Tim Lowe, "the going was too heavy (wish I could duck out when the going gets heavy)". The horse runs at Chepstow on Friday and the Diary's hopes will be riding on it.
