Bid for more youth clubs

The Government spends much more on young offenders than youth services, an inquiry heard this week. The Make Space Youth Review, run by 4Children, which wants to create 3,000 youth clubs by 2010, found just 17p a day is spent on services for each 11 to 16-year-old, compared with up to pound;13bn spent annually on youth crime.
