A SURVEY of sixth form college principals' salaries shows the highest paid are all male, writes Steve Hook.

Among the highest earning principals, at pound;62,000 to pound;80,000, there are 22 men and no women, according to an earnings survey by the Sixth Form Colleges Employers' Forum. At the bottom end, with earnings from pound;45,00 to pound;60,000, there are 27 women and eight men.

A similar pattern prevails with vice-principals.

The figures also show that most sixth- form colleges continue to be dominated by men at the top, with 84 male principals and 21 female.

Seventy-four of the 105 vice-principals are male too.
