Blair hurts the ones he loves

How unfortunate that Tony Blair's active promulgation of open enrolment has successfully undermined the community school he says he supports (TES, September 11).

At this moment Derbyshire faces the first closures of "failing" schools whose problems can be directly traced back to the drift away from the least popular school in the most deprived community.
