Blair legacy of student debt

Average student debt has doubled since Labour came to power, figures showed this week. Graduates are finishing three, four and five-year courses owing an average of pound;11,830, an increase from pound;5,792 when Labour came to power.

The price of a union bar pint has doubled in the same period, said The Push Guide to Money 2005-6: Student Survival.
