Blair's visit

19th September 1997 at 01:00
Your short report regarding the Prime Minister's visit to Morpeth School (TES, September 5), was quite misleading. The Prime Minister and Cherie Blair spent a considerable amount of time with a group of our pupils. All who met them were impressed with their interest in the school and in education.

I raised some issues on which we disagreed with the White Paper but to say that I "gave the Prime Minister a dressing down", and to imply that I waited until he was driving away to do so, is a complete distortion.
