Blind spot

Patrice Dixon asks (TES Letters, December 27) whether we really need research to tell us that smaller classes provide more opportunities to work with individual children.

The answer sadly is that whereas teachers, parents and the members of all political parties save one don't, Conservatives and their chief inspector apparently do.
