* It's easy to drown in a sea of information these days, but a new search engine being developed by a small British firm could make it quicker and easier to find what you're looking for - both on the internet and on your PC hard drive. Blinkx uses a smart agent, which is downloaded from the internet to search for information on your hard drive and on the web.

Blinkx is now in the beta stage of development and only about 10 per cent of web pages are indexed on the system, but many more are promised.
