Boarding Schools' Association and Roehampton Institute

21st February 1997 at 00:00
A venture between the Boarding Schools' Association and Roehampton Institute in south London will lead to two of the first professional boarding school qualifications for both teachers and support staff.

The two-year in-service courses consist of three modules: the first, common to both certificates will include the history of boarding schools, child protection issues and implications of the Children Act. The second, for non-teaching staff, will emphasise child health and development, while the teachers' course will focus on management. The final one for both will be work-based, allowing staff to develop their expertise on specific projects.
