Want to do something different, yet romantic, this Valentine's Day? Watch the classic Casablanca and say 'here's looking at you kids', says Susan Young

Looking for the perfect film to watch on Valentine's night? Or even the perfect film to tackle with your A-level students... or as part of a World War history course? Then Casablanca is your film. And forget snuggling up with the DVD and a box of chocolates at home. More than 60 years after it won three Oscars, the classic wartime romance is back in a cinema near you from February 14, with a sparkling new print which brings the film to life in a way not seen for a generation.

To get you in the mood, we've got 25 full-size posters from distributor Park Circus Films for the new cinema release - featuring Hollywood greats Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman - to give away to The TES Magazine readers. What better to grace your classroom, or even your bedroom, wall?

And if you needed a little extra encouragement to introduce your pupils to this classic 1942 film, Film Education is producing new study notes which aim to bring it to a new audience.

The pack is aimed at ASA2 film studies and media studies, but A-level students studying history or politics may also find them useful, as may Highers media analysis students.

Alice Crystal, author of the new resource, says: "Casablanca contains the ingredients for a near perfect film experience. The narrative reveals complex tensions between characters, desire and duty. Captivating performances from an amazing cast mean that you feel like you're in Casablanca, watching events unfold. The characterisation of the film provides a richness, resulting in romance, heroism and comic moments."

Could it be the start of a beautiful friendship?
