An unusual exhibition on the story of Scotland's peat bogs has opened at the Smith Art Gallery and Museum in Stirling. Created by Scottish Natural Heritage, "Wild, Wet and Wonderful" runs from January 12-February 27, and aims to raise awareness of the importance of Scottish boglands.

Alongside the exhibition is a series of Wednesday lunchtie talks on the natural history, history, archaeology and ecology of peatbogs, and a day of activities for the family (January 22).

The exhibition will tour to Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in early March.
