Book Aid International

Book Aid International is about to send 40,000 books to schools and libraries in Africa after raising pound;58,000 from this year's World Book Day (March 4). This is a record total in Book Aid's 50th year, with contributions from 450 UK schools, colleges and libraries. Kingston grammar school alone raised pound;3,000. Book Aid has been the World Book Day charity since the day was set up in 1998, but has not topped pound;50,000 since the first year.
