A chromosome imbalance marked last week's session of the Parliament's education committee.

Nice to see almost 50 per cent of the female persuasion hogging the MSP benches and even one-third of the local authorities' delegtion, to wit, Helen Law, Fife's education convener.

Sadly, all seven union bosses failed the equality test. Even the primary heidies, to a man- virtually all women, were represented by president, Bill Milligan.
