Brainiest kid TV search

TOP-performing pupils are to battle it out on television this month for the title of Britain's Brainiest Kid. Teachers and educational psychologists selected 80 pupils out of 3,000 children aged between 10 and 12 who sat general knowledge tests to appear on the the ITV programme, which begins on Monday.

The most successful 20 will go to a final on Boxing Day, which will be presented by Carol Vorderman.
