Ben puts three scoops of ice cream in a cone.

He can choose from vanilla, strawberry and chocolate.

The scoops can be the same or different.

How many different cones can Ben make?

Cherry picking

Noor can pick 1kg of cherries in 1.5 minutes. Darwish can pick 1kg of cherries in 2 minutes.

Together, Noor and Darwish spend a morning picking cherries.What fraction of the cherries does Noor pick?

SOLUTIONS Ice creams Ben can make 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 different ice creams.

Cherry picking After m minutes, Noor has picked m15kg and Darwish has picked m2kg of cherries, a total of 2m3 + m2 = 7m6kg. Noor's share is 2m3 of the total 7m6, which is 47.
