Body Image, Healthy Eating and Young People: an Information and Activity Pack for Teachers and Youth Workers

Berkshire NHS Health Promotion Unit Pounds 50 (including training session) This pack, which has been piloted in schools and youth clubs, is for those working with 11-18-year-olds. It contains a range of fact sheets and case study materials, with guidelines and resource lists for teaching sessions.

The focus is on "the development of a positive sense of self-esteem", and the learning materials look at both the personal and the social dimensions of this area.

The pupil role plays develop skills of "self-assertion" and "coping with stress". Eating disorders get a mention, but are not dealt with in depth.
