* I have just asked my 20-year-old son what sort of person would be a supply teacher.

His reply? "Someone who doesn't like to work every day; someone who can't teach."

'Nuff said! Thank God "Frank Chalk" (who has written a book and blog about his supply experiences) has left the profession - he is part of the problem.
