Bringing out the best

11th June 2004 at 01:00
A new national children's awards scheme was launched last week. Sponsored by ScottishPower Learning and Kids Clubs Direct, it aims to celebrate "the successes and achievements of Scotland's children, in particular highlighting gestures and actions which may seem small in the eyes of adults but are huge accomplishments in the minds and hearts of children".

There will be four categories of award for young people and one which will recognise the "truly inspirational" efforts of adults working with children.
