THIS is the last week of the current session for all but two Scottish education authorities, and The TES Scotland would like to take the opportunity to wish our readers a refreshing break.
Over the next few weeks we will be running a host of summer features to help you unwind, along with new special offers.
Our competition for 101 laptops has another week to run; the fifth and final token will appear next week. The same issue will carry details of our summer reading offer with a choice from six free best-selling paperbacks. Buy next week's issue to find out more.
On August 17, The TES Scotland will return to weightier issues with new features, new writers, new support for probationers and a major new series on the way ahead for Scottish education.
Our mission, as always, is to report on what is happening but also to provide a platform for teachers and lecturers to learn from each other and, increasingly, to highlight the good practice that exists throughout the profession.
And to help you to find the necessary tools to implement it, we will be involved in two major exhibitions and conferences in September - a national resources show for under-12s, in which we team up with our sister publications Nursery World and Primary magazine, and an annual ICT show for all teachers, SETT 2001, in which we team up with Learning and Teaching Scotland and the Scottish Executive.
In the meantime, put your feet up, have an enjoyable holiday and happy reading . . .
