Not created by teachers, but with impeccable educational credentials, is the latest British Museum site at It's the second educational website in the Ancient Civilizations series and includes sections on Sumer, Babylonia and Assyria, information on ancient writing, gods, goddesses demons and monsters, geography, astronomy, architecture and trade, and a virtual staffroom with information on getting the best out of the site (aimed at key stage 2 teachers). It has great images to entice the most jaded of time travellers.
