Slightly older readers will recall Adapting to Change, the former Strathclyde Region's school closure (oops, rationalisation) policy, better known as Adapting to Flames every time a school was torched to save the demolition men the bother.

Research shows that arson in and around school buildings went up by 30 per cent in 1977, the date of the last firefighters' strike. Check those insurance policies now.
