Buildings probe

The Parliament's education committee has announced an inquiry into the state of school buildings, including whether private finance is the best way of securing investment. The all-partycommittee wants written evidence by May 19 and expects to complete its work by December. An estimated pound;1 billion is needed to bring all schools up to an acceptable standard.
