Nursery children are victims of a "too much, too young" culture, with parents adding to the pressure to perform well academically. Delegates at the ATL annual assembly said four-year-olds were at risk of burn-out because of the stresses of early formal education. Boys were particularly likely to be turned off school, they warned.
