Business staff go for teaching

Managers appear to be swapping the boardroom for the classroom in droves, a new survey by the Teacher Training Agency suggests. The agency's poll of 571 newly-qualified teachers found that nearly a third had previously held senior posts in business. The survey also found that almost one in four new maths teachers had worked in banking or accountancy while one in six science teachers were trained scientists or pharmacists.
