7th July 2000 at 01:00
The Campaign for Museum's 24 Hour Museum website already offers access to collections throughout the United Kingdom, from small independent galleries to vast national institutions. It has now been enhanced by a Curriculum Navigator, which enables virtual visitors with specific educational purposes to explore 50 pilot institutions. It providesinformation about teachers' packs, workshops, lectures and displays. Users can search the site by national curriculum topic, by key words from the programmes of study or by a free-text search. It is intended to extend the facility to most and galleries throughout the United Kingdom. Website: www.24hourmuseum.org.uk
