Cardiff seeks a star

They promise not to be as scary as Simon Cowell or as scathing as Sharon Osbourne. But Cardiff Male Choir is on the lookout for its very own young singing star with that special X factor. It has launched the Cardiff and Vale Young Singer of the Year competition to promote music, and particularly singing, within the teenage population. The prize is a pound;500 sponsorship deal for music lessons or university fees, and pound;100 for the winner's school. Entries close today, tel: 029 2073 2786.
