Catholics update teaching on gays

A BITTER row has broken out over the Scottish Executive's plans to repeal Section 28 - the law banning the promotion of the acceptability of homosexuality in schools.

The Scottish School Boards Association is co-ordinatig a campaign against the repeal, bankrolled by a pound;500,000 donation from Stagecoach bus tycoon Brian Souter and with enthusiastic backing from Cardinal Thomas Winning, head of the Roman Catholic Church in Scotland.
